How much is this going to cost me?
We charge $90.00 for each 50 minutes face to face or Skype session (gap only). For more details, go to our Fees page.
How long is it going to take?
This will depend on many factors. TSM can work very quickly, but each individual is different. We will have a clearer idea after talking to you.
What do I need to do if I am interested?
Go to our Screening Test page and fill out the form and then click on "Submit". We will then contact you by email or call you to organise an appointment.
What is the first session going to be like?
The first session is primarily an assessment where we will discuss how Satzuma can help you recover from AUD. During our first session, we will ask you a fair few questions in order to get a better idea of your specific issues, your history and your goals. A first session is also a meet and greet. It can be daunting to talk about very personal issues with a complete stranger.
Also, language is important. We always strive to be respectful and we never use complex or technical terms. When we have to explain a concept (such as a the biochemistry of the brain and its relationship to addiction for instance), we clearly explain it in a simple and easily understandable language.
Also, Jean-Charles is bi-lingual and even though he has kept his French accent, he is very aware of the power of speech in any language. Jean-Charles has been a very successful counsellor for many years, and if you (like him), are from a non-English speaking background, rest assured that he will do his best to communicate clearly with you at all times. After all, language includes embracing and communicating culture in general and emotional culture in particular. And emotions are a prime driver of addiction.
What if I don't agree with your asessment?
We're not here to tell you what to do and we always work with your goals. Counselling is (or should be!) non-judgemental, respectful and supportive. But at the end of the day, it is your recovery and we will listen to your concerns and do our best to address them. Don't forget, it's all about you and your own way forward, your own life.
